Regional Economy

Fragmented Providence isn’t so different than most settings. The world of Altosole has much the same copper silver and gold coins as anywhere else. Where it differs slightly is in how valuable these coins are in comparison to one another. Copper coins are rather small and many of them can fit in the palm of the hand. Silver coins are larger at about half the same of the average palm. Gold coins meanwhile are large and valuable like doubloons. They are usually stamped for the kingdom they come from and with marks to denote their purity.

  • 100 Copper Coins are equal to the value of 1 Silver Coin
  • 100 Silver Coins are equal to the value of 1 Gold Coin
  • Gold Coins are not common currency to be exchanged on the street.
    • They are reserved for transactions between kingdoms and bulk purchases between merchants. Unless the goods are particularly expensive.

Below are some examples of the prices for different goods found in the kingdoms of Altosole in coin denominations. This is not a comprehensive list, and may not be true universally as goods fluctuate in price, but it does give a baseline for pricing.

  • All of the above listed are estimates and suggestions for keeping consistency around the sim. Each individual shop may choose their own prices, but we ask that you remain aware of the suggestions here. We also ask that no one comes into the sim possessing gold already and claiming wealth without something to back it up. Obvious leaders of groups and shop owners have a constant source of income. Just try to estimate where your character would be with their current profession.
